Economy Culture and Community Safety


Economy Culture and Community Safety consists of the key services:

•   ECONOMY including Business Services Development, Economic
     Development and Regeneration, PCMI/New Deal.
•   CULTURE including Arts, Libraries, Museums, Tourism and Visitor
     Services.
•   COMMUNITY SERVICE including Recreation, Parks, Cemeteries, Youth
     Service, Play and Community Support.
•   COMMUNITY SAFETY comprising:

•   Community Safety Team Anti Social Behaviour.
•   CCTV.
•   Substance misuse.
•   Community Wardens.
•   Hidden violence including: Domestic violence, Racial Harassment
     and Homophobic crime.

The Directorate for Economy, Culture and Community Safety exists to work
with employers, workers, tourists, visitors and residents to promote
Portsmouth as a place in which to invest, live, work and play.

•   Providing high quality recreational and cultural services.
•   Working with the residents and businesses of Portsmouth to develop a
     dynamic, vibrant cultural city and build a sustainable economy with a
     range of jobs available for an appropriately skilled workforce.
•   Working with partners to build a safer and more inclusive City.
